Call for Abstract Submissions and Poster Presenters

EMPoweRx 2026 Resident Research Reception

This is your opportunity to share your research with pharmacy colleagues during the EMPoweRx Resident Research Reception! We encourage submissions highlighting unique medication practices, innovative services, evaluations, and pharmacy practice model change initiatives. Encore presentations from national meetings (ASHP, ACCP, etc.) are also welcome.

Eligibility

Open to:

• PGY1 Pharmacy Residents
• PGY2 Pharmacy Residents
• Toxicology Fellows
• Emergency Medicine Fellows

Submission Guidelines

Each abstract must be submitted via the conference submission form and contain the following:

1. Author Information: Include the full name, professional credentials, institutional affiliation (healthcare organization and/or college name), and email address for the resident presenter.
2. Title: Use a brief, descriptive title in sentence case.
3. Abstract Body:
   • Purpose: (max 100 words)
   • Methods: (max 225 words)
   • Results: (max 200 words)
   • Conclusions: (max 100 words)
4. Formatting:
   • Do not include tables, graphs, or illustrations in the abstract.
   • Spell out all pharmaceutical acronyms.
   • Specify a submission practice category (e.g., cardiology, infectious diseases, toxicology, trauma, emergency medicine).

Deadlines

• Abstract Submission Deadline: November 1, 2025, 11:59 PM EST
• Acceptance Notifications: December 2025
• Final Poster PDF Submission: March 15, 2026
• Travel Award Applications: Due with abstract acceptance confirmation

The EMPoweRx 2026 Resident Research Reception will recognize outstanding research with:

  • Relevance and impact on emergency medicine pharmacotherapy

• Publication in JACP for all accepted abstracts

• $200 travel awards for qualifying applicants

Additional Information

• All abstracts submitted by the deadline will be eligible for publication in JACP and presentation at the poster session.
• Research-in-progress abstracts with background and methods only will be accepted for the poster session and publication.
• The resident is responsible for printing their own poster and bringing it to the poster session.
• Poster specifications and templates will be provided upon acceptance.
• Virtual presentation guidelines will be sent to selected presenters.
