Award Description: The EM Pharmacist of the Year award recognizes an exceptional Emergency Medicine Pharmacist who has demonstrated outstanding dedication, innovation, and contributions to the field of Emergency Medicine Pharmacy.
Eligibility:
· Nominee must be a licensed pharmacist actively practicing in the field of Emergency Medicine Pharmacy.
· Nominee must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Emergency Medicine Pharmacy.
· Nominee should have made significant contributions to improving patient care, safety, and outcomes within the Emergency Medicine setting.
· Nominations can be made by anyone; you don’t have to be an attendee of the EMPoweRx Conference to nominate.
Nomination Period:
· Nominations open on October 18, 2023.
· Nominations close on December 31, 2023.
Nomination Process:
· Nominations can be submitted via the dedicated submission page on the EMPoweRx Conference website.
· Include the nominee’s name, contact information, and a brief statement explaining why they deserve the “EM Pharmacist of the Year” award.
Supporting Documents:
· Nominees are required to submit the following supporting documents to the submission page:
· Curriculum Vitae (CV)
· Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to the nominee’s contributions in the field of Emergency Medicine Pharmacy.
Evaluation Process:
· The evaluation of nominations will be conducted by the EMPoweRx Conference Planning Committee.
· The committee will use a predefined criteria and scorecard to assess each nomination.
· The criteria may include factors such as innovation, impact, leadership, and contributions to the field.
· Each nomination will be scored based on these criteria.
Award Presentation:
· The recipient of the “EM Pharmacist of the Year” award will be announced and recognized during the EMPoweRx Conference on April 26-27, 2024.
· The winner will receive a certificate and complimentary conference registration.
Communication Plan:
· Information about the “EM Pharmacist of the Year” award, including eligibility criteria, nomination process, and deadlines, will be communicated through the EMPoweRx Conference website, social media, and promotional materials.
Feedback and Improvement:
· After the conference, feedback from participants and the award evaluation committee will be gathered to assess the success of the award program and make improvements for future conferences.
Notification Process:
1. Nominee Notification: After the nomination period closes on December 31, 2023, all nominees will be notified via email to confirm their nomination. This notification will acknowledge their nomination and provide information about the next steps in the evaluation process.
2. Evaluation Period: Once all nominations have been confirmed, the EMPoweRx Conference Planning Committee will commence the evaluation process. The committee will carefully review and score each nomination based on the predefined criteria and scorecard.
3. Selection of Award Recipient: After the evaluations are complete, the Planning Committee will select the recipient of the “EM Pharmacist of the Year” award based on the highest overall score and alignment with the award criteria.
4. Recipient Notification: The selected award recipient will be notified via email no later than February 29, 2024. This notification will inform them of their achievement and provide details about the award presentation ceremony at the EMPoweRx Conference.
5. Announcement: A public announcement of the award recipient will also be made on the EMPoweRx Conference website, social media platforms, and in conference promotional materials. This announcement will be made simultaneously with the recipient’s notification.
6. Nominee Feedback: For nominees who were not selected as the award recipient, feedback on their nomination and evaluation scores can be provided upon request. This feedback will be made available after the award presentation ceremony.
7. Nominator Notification: Nominators of the award recipient will also be notified of the selection and invited to attend the award presentation ceremony to celebrate the achievement.

This award recognizes their dedication, advocacy, and positive impact on medication management and patient outcomes.
